Do you have places to be and people to see… All.The.Time? Life can get super cray, super fast. Am I the only one whose to-do list keeps getting longer and longer, not shorter and shorter? It goes something like this:
1. I complete a task on my to-do list. (wahoo!)
2. I do a happy dance in my head and have a brief (yet blissful!) feeling of accomplishment.
3. I remember 3 more things that I need to add to my to-do list.
4. I realize that this list will haunt me forever.
So what is a crazy-busy girl to do? Between work life, family life , blog life…squeezing in a workout can seem like an impossibility. Even vacations can take a toll on your fitness routine. It’s not like it’s practical to pack weights in your suitcase, (I was silly enough to try this once, as I mentioned in this post) and a hotel gym probably isn’t where you want to spend your precious vacay days.
So whether you had a hella long day at the office (and that new episode of Nashville is calling your name) or you’re planning a vacay and wondering how you’ll stay in shape while you’re away — these 3 portable, space-saving tools can tone you up no matter the time or place.
I recommend using all 3 of these in conjunction with each other for a true, full-body workout.
Ok, how nifty is this?! Different exercises require different resistance, but no one wants to tote around three separate bands…am I right? This 3-in-1 resistance band is your on-demand strength training system no matter where you are. Resistance bands can spice up any workout. Incinr8 Fitness Studio introduced me to the effectiveness of resistance bands, and there is no turning back! Check out these exercises. The options are endless!
The trainer that whipped me into shape before my wedding introduced me to the power loop. You can literally work out with it anywhere – like in your living room watching Scandal 😉
One of my favorite moves to do is an in-and-out jump squat like in the pic below (I am obviously not taking it very seriously…) The Fitnessista breaks down some moves that I love here.
#3. Jump Rope
Yes, a jump rope..innovative huh?! Even though it may seem old school or like a nostalgic playground toy, it is surprisingly effective and super hard. It is the perfect portable piece of equipment to add a cardio burst to your workout. Interval style workouts that integrate both resistance and cardio are most effective, so the jump rope is key. Does jumping rope sound easy? I sure thought it did until I jumped rope for 2 minutes straight (yes, only 2 minutes) and realized that it was no cake walk…
So the next time you are on your couch about to start a House of Cards binge sesh, break out these 3 portable, space-saving tools and squeeze a quick workout into your day. Nothing like a political thriller to make the time fly!
Thank you so much for reading! Have an extraordinary weekend friends!
