Hi there my friends!
Let’s chat makeup. 🙂
There are LOTSA chemicals down that oh-so-convenient (and alluringly affordable!) cosmetic aisle of Walgreens. It’s a bummer, I know. Since the skin is our largest organ, we absorb whatever we lather, paint or powder on top of it (no matter how pretty the product…)
That’s why I’m so so (SO!) excited to discover Nordstrom’s online natural beauty & wellness department! It features more naturally-sourced beauty products free of sulfates, phthalates & parabens.
I’m no scientist (that’s for sure!) so I haven’t picked apart each and every ingredient on the back of these natural products I’ve introduced into my makeup regimen. HOWEVER, I know that they’re A WHOLE LOT better than the more mainstream products I was blindly using before. For instance, let’s talk talc-free powder! I recently discovered that talc was the 1st ingredient in my go-to setting powder. Yikes. Talc is highly controversial as it’s been linked to a host of health issues. I’d rather not take the gamble – I’m throwing any products containing talc in the trash. Thank heavens I found a talc-free (and oh-so-luxurious!) face powder alternative by Chantecaille! Let’s kick off my new natural favorites with this fab powder find, shall we?
This ultra-fine talc-free powder is virtually weightless with a soft, matte finish.
I heart it. It’s the perfect powder to dust atop foundation so it stays all day.
Plus the powder puff makes me feel fancy. 🙂
Pssst… Get ready for A LOT more Chantecaille goodness below. It’s one of my new favorite brands! And it just so happens to be a Gwyneth-Paltrow-approved, goop-worthy line. That means it HAS to be good. She’s picky.
Before finding this little eye-brightening wonder, I was lining the inner rim of my eye with a pencil that had some not-so-natural ingredients. (Eek.) The inner rim of the eye is so delicate – it’s an area where a high quality product is a must. I’m SO THANKFUL to have found this! It’s aloe-infused and meant specifically for the waterline. Read the reviews for proof of its fabulousness!
I love it when the work is done for me. No thinking required. These 3 hues are meant to work in harmony on the brow bone, crease & lid. I purchased the “Triple Cognac” and it’s proving to be extremely versatile. They’re highly pigmented shades that are perfect for an everyday eye. And the shade with shimmer is stunning. As a girl that typically sticks to matte shadow, I have been shocked with how much I love its iridescence!
I’ve been looking REAL PALE lately thanks to chilly weather and no beach in site. This gel bronzer is an easy way for me to add a healthy flush of color to my skin in a pinch. I’m sure to carry the color down my neck so I don’t look like a floating bronzed bobble head. It looks very natural and application is easy! It gets some major bonus points for the following powerhouse ingredients: raspberry stem cells (for DNA protection) and antioxidant-rich Bearberry complex!
More antioxidants coming your way! This “nourishing antioxidant formula” lightens and brightens the delicate undereye area. It’s often compared to YSL’s ever-so-popular Touche Eclat. However, this formula is much more natural. Wear it alone under the eye for light coverage or layer it atop your favorite undereye concealer to up its radiance! 🙂
In addition to the 5 favorites listed above, you can shop my remaining natural makeup product purchases below:
(I use as lower lash liner.)
(I use as upper lash liner.)
(Check out this Chantecaille mascara too. It’s a lower price. But still expensive…)
🙂 🙂 🙂
Happy shopping (& beautifying!) sweet friends!
Hugs to you,
P.S. Just to be clear, there’s no way I’m trashing all of my favorite MAC minis for the sake of health. (Just being honest…) They’re too perfect to go without. You know I can’t live without my “Mehr“…!
BUT, I have been giving some natural lippies a try these days (and I’m impressed!)
A post will be up here on Fashion And Frills this Friday highlighting my new favorite natural lippie finds from Nordstrom! So be sure to come back and give it a read! Or subscribe here to read the post in your inbox when it goes live.
P.P.S If you’d like to snag this pretty printed robe, you can find it HERE! 🙂
