Is your Wednesday off to a beautiful start? I sure hope so! Now, let’s chat clothes & NYFW!
I love NOTHING MORE than an oversized peplum hem (this is prob no surprise), and this emerald green hue had my name written all over it. I decided to double up on the jewel tones by pairing it with these sapphire rosette heels. They are TRUE BEAUTIES. Then, to make this a tri-color triple threat… these orange beads were a playful accent up top. Naturally, such a lively combo needs a hint of edge. So, thank you black faux leather jacket that you’ve most definitely seen me wear before. It’s the jack of all jacket trades. Whether worn atop the shoulders or traditionally on the arm, this jacket makes EVERYTHING better. To add a playful print into the mix, I picked this striped lipstick clutch as an accent.
And now for the NYFW nitty gritty:
This was actually my 1st NYFW outfit of the week. However, I decided to share the red dress on Monday since it was my absolute favorite look during my time in New York. I wore this green peplum dress on Thursday (after arriving in NYC Wednesday night) and I loved every second in it!
I started off the day with hair and makeup in the hotel by Beglammed (I could really get used to the whole hair & makeup every morning kinda thing… 😁) and they did an extraordinary job. Bright and early at 7 am, Hanna airbrushed my face for all-day-wear and Tatyana gave me waves that lasted ALL DAY LONG (The photos above were taken at 7 pm… so those waves lasted 12+ hours!!! What?!)
Post glamming, I was off to the Nicholas K show. The collection was KILLER. The sandy hues & the safari-esque styles were a dream. How phenomenally fab are the oversized hats & visors?! #yassss
Next up was Marissa Webb. And, you guessed it, her SS17 collection didn’t disappoint. She topped feminine florals with military jackets and sheer ruffled tops with leather trousers. Also, it looks like gingham isn’t going anywhere! Her standout gingham pieces were constructed to perfection with oversized frills. They were right up my alley. 🙂
When the clock struck dinnertime, I headed to Landmarc with a few fellow bloggers to meet the sweetest gal, Jennifer. She does all-things-communications for David Yurman. We had emailed back and forth in the past so it was so fun to finally meet in person. She was a delight! Plus, she recommended the most divine shrimp & frisée salad that was so delish my mouth is watering as I type.
Post dinner, I met up with the hubs and a college friend of ours for a drink at our hotel. The New York Edition has a BOMB.com bar/restaurant. It’s one of those swanky spots that makes you want to channel your inner Gigi Hadid. However, I was only there for a bit, because I needed to be up and at ’em bright and early. 🙂
And, that’s a wrap! I hope you’re enjoying my Fashion Week series. Talk again soon! xo
