Phew! It’s been quite a whirlwind, friends!
I’ve heard it said that New York Fashion Week is both exhilarating and exhausting at the same time. This is without a doubt the truth! I’ve never experienced a week filled with such fashion-focused fun and fanfare – I felt in my element as I relished each and every jaw dropping design and as I mingled amongst the fashion industry’s finest. I must also admit that I’ve never arrived home from a “vacation” feeling in desperate need of another vacation (or maybe even hibernation)…until now! But, trust me, the sleep deprivation, the blistered toes & the 3 suitcases of unpacking I have yet to complete, are TOTALLY WORTH IT. I’m already excited for next season’s NYFW in February! Bring it on!
Anywho, let’s get back to the good stuff- the clothes, of course.
For my first fashion week #outfitoftheday, I doubled down on the dots.
Polka dots peppered the NYC Street Style scene quite a bit, so I’m glad I went with a polka dot one-two punch for the sake of impact. I paired this polka dot top (on sale – such a steal!) with a polka dot neck scarf (similar option) that had an inverted color scheme. I wore pink on bottom with these unique layered trousers that I absolutely love. These Trina Turk shoes were such a fabulous Last Call sale find (yay!) and I’m so glad I found these AMAZE mirrored cat-eye sunnies and this versatile rose gold ring at Nordstrom right before I left town for the Big Apple!
If you’ve been following my NYFW adventures via Instagram, you may have already seen this short little video, so bear with me! The night that I returned back to Dallas from NYC, a friend of mine let me know via Instagram that they had seen me on the show Fashion Police (eek!) in this polka dot outfit from Fashion Week! Naturally I already had it recorded on our DVR because I’ve been a Fashion Police devotee for years! Sure enough, my polka dot ensemble and I do have a brief cameo during the intro that you can see if you click below:
This video was captured outside of the The Arc, Skylight at Moynihan Station after the Desigual Show. Since it was bustling with photographers, bloggers & even some celebs (including Laverne Cox from Orange Is the New Black & quite a few Bachelorette alums), you never really know who is taking your photo or video at any given moment. I’m glad it happened to be E!
Speaking of Desigual, I want to wrap up this post with a few photos from their runway show. Since Desigual is known for vibrant hues, flamboyant prints & edgy designs, it’s no surprise that their spring 2016 collection made a colorful splash on the runway. Watching these designs come down the catwalk made for a very interesting show – just look at those headpieces!
