Sayonara, skinnies! The flares are back in town.
Spring 2015 runways prepared us for this radical return to the denim trend of yesteryear – the flare. This belled-out trouser trend is going strong and elongating the legs of fashionable women everywhere! Seriously, they do wonders for your stems.
So, with Mila Kunis as my muse – think “That ’70s Show” style Mila Kunis- I headed off to Nordstrom in the hopes that I could find a flared out pant to call my own.
My mission proved successful, these Paige Denim Bell Bottoms were the clear winner.
The comfort level of these jeans is off the charts. When I put them on for the first time, I could have sworn they were pajama jeans (you’ve seen those frightening infomercials right?!). Upon further investigation I found that Paige Denim has a new TRANSCEND line which states on the label : Wont Stretch Out, Luxuriously Soft, Flawless Fit. I can attest to the fact that these 3 statements are true. It’s as if a denim genie granted the 3 wishes of every woman in America. I’m in love.
To really get the ’70s vibe a rollin, I paired the flairs with a mellow yellow paisley top.
Not feeling particularly nostalgic? Here are 2 modern takes:
One additional thought: Balance out the bells at your feet with a high-waist cut. Proportion is key.
Shop this look – Flare Jeans (Nordstrom) | Paisley Top (Nordstrom) | Heels (Neiman Marcus) | Belt (J.Crew) | Purse (Neiman Marcus) | Bangle (similar style: Bloomingdales) | Earrings (similar style: Tory Burch)
Thank you so much for stopping by – now go find yourself a pair of flares and rock ’em like it’s 2015!
P.S. Which ’70s style spring trend is your fav? Is it fringe, suede, flares, or something else? I’d love to hear from you, comment below!
