Hi there, friend!
It’s been a little over a week since my last post here on Fashion & Frills due to the craziness (and the fun!) of Fashion Week. Fashion Week is go go go… and GO some more! I apologize for the brief hiatus, but I promise that I’m back for good! I couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to attend NYFW- I left New York with some MAJOR style inspiration and with so many newfound friendships and connections! 🙂
I’m starting off my New York Fashion Week blog series with my absolute favorite outfit of the week. Btw, it was Tom’s favorite outfit of the week too (so that really says somethin’, doesn’t it?!)
This ruby red dress (thank you, Avenue 32!) is fiery yet feminine. The transparent mesh panels majorly UP the intrigue of the design and the velvet panels = instant texture play. Plus, velvet is the #1 textile for fall/winter. It’s going to be EVERYWHERE.
To make me even more head over heels IN LOVE with this Fashion Week ensemb, these color-crazed fur Loeffler Randall sandals are wondrously wild yet super duper wearable. They’re as good as it gets. Anticipate about a billion compliments once you place these pretties on your feet. They’re eye-catching to say the least.
Now, let’s chat about the deets of the day –
My day began at Fourteen Jay Salon (you guys know that I’m a slave to a good blowout… there’s nothing better!) and I couldn’t have left the chair happier! You can see my post-blowout selfie HERE! Fourteen Jay is an Aveda Salon (hello, all-natural yet delicious smelling hair products!) and my stylist, John Warren, was SUCH a talent. I instantly adored his energy and ultimately adored his skill. I walked out of Fourteen Jay with an easy-breezy up-do that epitomized effortless polish…. #salonscore. The unseasonably humid weather of NYC (it was 90 degrees +) meant that wearing my hair down was not an option. I couldn’t have been happier with the result!
Post blissful blowout, I headed on over to the Eliza J showroom to get a glimpse at their upcoming designs (there are some MAJOR beauties!), and then 3 shows were on the agenda: Pamella Roland, Katie Gallagher & Tadashi Shoji. But, to be completely honest, I bailed a bit early for an Oyster date with the hubs since I hadn’t seen him all day – and that was the best decision I could have made! 🙂
