Hi there, lovely!
I hope your day is absolutely delightful. I’m so glad that you’re here to chat comfy-chic springtime staples!
Today’s look features light airy layers for these not-too-warm, not-too-cool spring afternoons. And, from head to toe, this look is comprised of the softest most pj-esque clothes in my closet. The comfort is, quite literally, off the charts! From the sumptuously soft jersey tunic up top to the tan pumps designed with extra cushy padding on my toes, this outfit is no fuss.
Until recently, I was under the impression that Eileen Fisher’s clothing catered only to the 50+ crowd. Moms, librarians, the entire PTA… I figured that was the target market. Well, friends, I’ve proven myself wrong. After reading the crazy-good reviews praising this “soft, supple jersey” tunic, I ordered it along with this darling tassel-trimmed scarf to complement. Upon arrival of the goods, I tried both items on with a bit of hesitation…
Then, something remarkable happened.
I wore them… I LOVED them… I wore them WAY more… and I figured that I should tell you about how much I genuinely adore them! This 27-year-old is officially an Eileen Fisher convert thanks to the sumptuously fluid fabric of this tunic and the downright cuteness of this scarf. The exact same tunic is being shipped to me in the color black as I type. It’s that good. And I really want the scarf in pink… 🙂
Comfy enough to lounge on the couch, yet classy enough to wear out and about. That is this tunic in a nutshell. I’m not even one of those girl’s that values comfort over style. I’ll walk a mile in pointy-toed shoes that are one size too small for the sake of “chic”. Trust me. I have friends and family that can attest to this cringe-worthy fact. So, little did I know that I would find myself reaching for Eileen’s comfy closet classic again and again. It’s a timeless basic that, when mixed and matched with on-trend pieces like tassel earrings and distressed denim, can become remarkably fresh.
The price is a bit steep, but the quality is stellar. Before ordering this white jersey tunic by Eileen Fisher, I purchased a similar (much lower quality) white boatneck tee in the hopes that I would put it to use all spring and summer. Keep in mind, this other tee was only $30. Well, unfortunately I’m wearing it right now as I type. Why is this unfortunate, you ask? Because after just 2 washes, the top has pilled like crazy! For real, it’s bad. So now I only wear it while I’m at home by myself during a blog writing sesh or while cleaning up the apartment. So, after just 2 short weeks I can hardly wear the top in public! #bummer
The Eileen Fisher tunic, on the other hand, will last me for seasons to come. You can feel the difference in the textile. It’s top of the line and has the best kind of high quality stretch. One of my favorite things about this top is the length. Am I the only one that doesn’t love the look of a denim on my upper thigh… ha? The length of this tunic flatters the leg by concealing my not-so-fave zone. Plus, boat necks make me happy. They flatter the collarbone, add a bit of feminine intrigue to even the most basic top, and give a nod to classic, nautical style (which is forever-trending, if you ask me!)
And, because I just couldn’t help my newfound comfy-crazed self, I included a few more springtime faves below! The pastel hue of #1 is just about as cute as it gets and the classic crewneck of #3 has me dreaming of its endless styling possibilities (and it’s on sale)! Oh, and the striped top (aka #3) is on sale, too! Happy shopping! xo
