Hi friends! I hope your week is off to a fabulous start! I am super excited to share this fitness review with you, because it is about something really innovative.
Personal Training is often considered the most effective way to get in shape. I mean, look at Rihanna?! And I’m pretty sure it’s how Hugh Jackman transforms into an X-Man in just a few short months. Personal training provides results because exercises are tailored to each trainee’s specific needs, fitness abilities & physical goals.
I was the fittest I had ever been when I worked out with a trainer 3 times a week – she pushed me session after session and whipped my body into shape before my wedding. To say I am thankful for her (shout out to Amber Garner!) is an understatement. After Tom and I got married, we said goodbye to Houston and hello to Dallas! I have missed the personal training experience ever since, but it looks like the LIFT App for IPad could be the answer to my prayers.
LIFT brings your very own personal trainer to you — wherever you might be. Can you say convenient?
All you need:
1. IPad with LIFT App (free!) — take your experience up a notch by streaming on your Apple TV!
2. Wifi Connection
3. Space to get your sweat on (I recommend 10×10, but 8×8 works)
I am really excited about LIFT you guys – and for good reason! It is an efficient way to get real-time personal training anywhere, no equipment required. This makes it perfect for travel. If you are feeling fancy and you happen to have resistance bands, kettle-bells, or a stability ball handy, the trainer can incorporate them into your particular workout! The workouts are tailored to you.
LIFT has a wide variety of training variations to choose from including: Calisthenics, Martial Arts, Yoga, Bootcamp, Pilates, Rehabilitation, Strength Training, HIIT and more. The LIFT personal trainers are all certified and accredited, each being tested and approved by the LIFT team.
What if you already have a personal trainer? No need to say goodbye! You can use the LIFT app to connect with your current trainer too, all free of charge. I guess that means no more falling off the bandwagon while away on vacay… because your trainer can travel with you!
My LIFT Experience:
Session I tried: HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training)
Trainer: David Sciacca
Quick Rundown: Circuit Style // Bodyweight Strength Moves & Cardio Bursts // 1 Hour
Price to Try: Your first LIFT session is Free! // $40 per 30 Minute Sesh // $70 per 60 Minutes Sesh
A few of the exercises incorporated into the session:
Forward Lunges with Arms Overhead
Although the exercises above are fairly common, David did throw in some moves that were totally new to me including: a Hip Bridge with Leg Abduction, Crab Reaches, & Butterfly Sit-ups. I was able to perform these new moves properly because there is a demo video before each exercise – super helpful!
Post LIFT session, I was definitely out of breath (thanks to 2 killer rounds of burpees!), but the workout was totally doable. I woke up this morning with a good-kind-of-sore in my legs and my back. It takes a lot to get me sore these days, so I am really pleased this HIIT routine effectively pushed my body and fatigued my muscles. Keep in mind, your workout will be customized to you. Your level of ability and your specific workout goals will be considered during each session — just like a face-to-face training sesh.
I think the concept behind LIFT sessions might be the fitness of the future, people. We all want convenient yet effective workouts — LIFT provides both of these things, all within an easy-to-use IPad app.
